~~~~~ MAGNETIC SEPARATORS ~~~~~
FEATURES OF MAGNATIC SEPARATORS
The heart of all type of separators consists of one Powerful Electromagnet operating on Direct Current. The iron parts are made of high permeability mild steel and the parts are designed for most efficient magnetic field distribution and to produce maximum force density at a selected working distance from the magnet face. The bottom plate is made of heavy stainless steel plate. It is structurally rugged. The other design features include Class 'H' fiberglass insulated E. C. Grade Aluminum or in some cases Copper wound Coils, vacuum impregnated for higher operating strength and better heat dissipation.
Air Cooled Magnets:~
The Air Cooled Magnets are provided with proper ventilation for free flow of air filters provided in certain cases.
Oil Cooled Magnets:~
The Oil Cooled Magnets are provided with Exclusive external Oil Expansion Tank and the feature has helped the prevention of Coil Burning. Heat and moisture, the greatest enemies of electromagnets, are effectively controlled by the expansion tank, which assures that the coils are always completely immersed in cooling oil.
Competitive units provide space within the magnet housing where damaging condensation forms when moist air seeps in through the pressure relief valve as the magnet cools. The breather provided at the expansion tank traps the moisture and keeps it out of the magnet.
Trolley and Hoist :~
The Trolley and Hoist have been provided to hang the magnet and to facilitate upward and downward movement to adjust gap between the belt and the magnet as well as to take away the magnet from the top of the to the side to discharge the iron pieces collected from the belt. After discharging the material the magnet can be put into its original position.
The Hoist is to be operated only when needed as the gap is adjusted at the time of installation and used to put the magnet on ground for maintenance. The hoist will be operated manually and the trolley can be supplied as manually and electrically operated as per the customer requirement.
Power Pack Control :~
The Power Pack Control unit will control the magnet and supply 220 Volts D.C. The input supply will be as per the customer's available power source. This will consist of pilot lamps, voltage and current measuring meters, fuses, push button satiation with provision of remote remote control station, power transformer, rectifier bridge, control transformer, surge suppressing components, and inter locking relays. A separate Remote Control Station is provided near the magnet for which the sockets and selector switch is provided in cubicle.
As optional equipment we provide a temperature indicator and controls. The temperature indicator provided on the power pack control unit indicates the magnet temperature. at any time, if the magnet temperature exceeds the safe limit the hooter provided for this purpose will signal the control room.
During this time, the magnet can be switched off and make necessary checks. If no action has been taken even after the signal the hooter ceases operating and magnet supply will be put off automatically.
Selection of Magnet :~
The most important factor in the selection of the proper size of a Magnet is burden depth, belt width, suspension position, size of tramp iron, speed of the belt, suspension height and type of the material carried by the Magnet.
The following information is required to make the proper recommendation.
                • Burden Depth
                • Maximum Lump Size
                • Belt Width
                • Belt Speed
                • Suspension position
                • Degree of Troughing
                • Tramp Iron Size (Max. & Min.)
                • Idlers
                • Material Size
                • Belt Incline
                • Capacity (TPH or CFH)
                • Material Density
                • Ambient Temperature
                • Altitude
                • Head Pulley Material
                • Head Pulley Diameter
